Our Story
Urban Avalanche is a non-profit football organization founded in 2023 by Karim Khan and Samuel Dru, and it continues to operate today with a clear mission: to grow football in our community at no cost. We started Urban Avalanche because many football schools and clubs were too expensive, limiting opportunities for talented and passionate players. We wanted to make a change and inspire more children in our community to learn football and get an experience of what joining a club is like. To ensure accessibility and team identity, we purchased customized kits and provided them to our players free of charge. Since our founding, we have trained consistently four times a week for three years and competed against well-established schools in Abu Dhabi, including BISAD. Through dedication, hard work, and community support, Urban Avalanche has become a platform for developing football talent while promoting inclusivity and opportunity for all.

The Founding Of Urban Avalanche
On this day, Urban Avalanche was founded with the goal of making football accessible to everyone in the community. Established in 2023, the non-profit organization was created to remove financial barriers and provide free opportunities for players to train, compete, and grow in the sport. This day marked the beginning of a journey focused on inclusivity, teamwork, and developing football talent through passion and dedication.
9th March 2023
First Official Match
Our first game against BISAD marked a major milestone in Urban Avalanche’s journey. Facing BISAD, one of the biggest and most respected schools in the UAE, we competed against their U13 A team in a match that tested our determination and teamwork. The highlight of the game came when we scored our first-ever goal, a moment that symbolized our progress, belief, and the hard work put in since the club’s founding. This match proved that Urban Avalanche could compete at a high level and set the standard for what was to come.

Our Second official match
Our second match against BISAD represented the results of a full year of training and sharpening our skills. After dedicating countless hours to improving technique, fitness, and teamwork, Urban Avalanche returned to competition stronger and more confident. This game showed how far we had come as a team, reflecting the discipline and commitment built over a year of hard work and consistent training.

Where we train.
We train at the public pitch located at Urban Oasis Compound. Located near the Fairmont hotel, the pitch welcomes anyone in the Rabdan area to come train on real grass with 9 a side goals, offering the real football experience for free.
